Capel, The King's Head c.1955

More about this scene
This is yet another building that has changed since the 1960s. The King's Head in The Street in Capel, a village now by-passed by the A24 London to Worthing road, is now a private house, and its once sterile car park is now an attractive front garden. Presumably, the by-pass killed the pub's trade. The tile-hung left part is 16th- century, and the then smart right-hand block is early 19th-century.
