Chapel St Leonards, Chapel Point c.1955

More about this scene
To the north beyond Ingoldmells, and rather more genteel, is Chapel St Leonards, where my mother used to holiday in the 1930s. This view is taken from the sandy Roman Bank path looking to Chapel Point. The breakwaters have gone and the sea wall has been rebuilt, but most of the beach huts remain, with quaint names like Dolly's Den, Molly's and Sand Lea.
