Frank Williams had a place behind The White Horse on the Bath Road, the team based at the Windsor Lanes bowling alley was Roy Winklemann Racing a very successful F2 team, future (posthumous) world F1 champion Jochen Rindt was one of his drivers, future McClaren boss Ron Dennis was one of his mechanics, The Le Mans winning teams were based in Yeovil Road on The Trading Estate, Ford Advanced Vehicles with the GT40 and John Wyer with the Gulf Porsches
