More about this scene

Landslips have been known to occur here when rainfall has been exceptionally high. In December 2000, it was estimated that 400,000 cubic metres of earth was slowly moving down the side of Leith Hill. A section of road near here buckled, and it remained closed for six months. Finally, the ground was stabilised and the road was repaired. There were previous landslips at Coldharbour in 1673 and 1866.

From Melbourne To Coldharbour
In May 1971 my mother (Jeanne Grenville) brother Chris and I rented 'Ruffeys' at Coldharbour. We had just arrived from Melbourne, Australia and we were to make our home in the UK. Chris and I were so homesick for our friends and fun days down the beach. My Childhood In Coldharbour
In July 1959, I was born at home, to Eric and Ann Shields in Coldharbour village.  My father was the village policeman; we lived in what was then the police house, which was situated next to the village shop opposite the schoolhouse.  All of these properties have now been turned into private homes, but in the scheme of things, the wonder of Coldharbour is how little has changed in almost 50 years. ...see more

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
