More about this scene
This view looks up towards the old Pavilion, which was built in 1887. Unfortunately it was destroyed by fire in 1972, so that today a new pavilion stands on this site. The new pavilion continues the tradition here of commemorating a Queen's jubilee: it is called the Jubilee Pavilion, and it was built in 1977 to celebrate our present Queen Elizabeth's 25th year on the throne.
