More about this scene
In September 1960 the electrification of the London Midland Region's line between Crewe and Manchester was completed. This was followed by the Liverpool-to-Crewe line, and then south to London's Euston. By 1974 the whole of the West Coast main line, north of Crewe to Glasgow, had been converted to AC electrification.
