Prefabs

A Memory of Dartford.

From 1947 I lived in Bedford Road at the top of East Hill but my maternal grandparents lived in the prefabs at the other end of town. The name Blackmans Close sticks in my mind for some reason but I’m not sure if it’s my memory playing tricks - at the age of 75 that seems to happen at times lol. Does anyone remember if there were prefabs in Blackmans Close &, if so, whether that address still exists - I assume the prefabs are long gone?

I left Dartford in 1974 but I’m coming back for a visit this weekend & would like to visit some of my old haunts.

I recall the pre-fabs in Blackmans Close at the top of Heath Lane, I worked for H&J Stanford who were grocers, bakers& butchers in Heath Street.
