A view along Hayeswater Road from the roundabout sited halfway along the road. Even though I now live about 150m from the Moorside Road end of Hayeswater Road, it's difficult to tell in which direction we are looking - towards the Nags Head (Davyhulme Circle), or towards Moorside Road. I *think* we are looking towards Moorside Road. It's difficult to tell because in the last 60 years, the trees have grown much larger.
Being allowed to play freely, paddling in the "pool" at Davyhulme Park. Long sunny days, a bottle of water and bread and jam butties on the "hills". Using the greaseproof wrapper from butties to rub on the slide to make it more slippery. No mobile phones. In fact not many people had telephones come to think about it. When I was a kid it never went dark when it did I saw a tomato man in Davyhulme Park. One of my memories
Grimwoods was the best ice cream in the world. It was smooth and coloured cream - delicious! They had a shop on the circle and peddled their ice cream from a Bedford van around the Davyhulme area. The shop was on the right of the detached property in picture D104001.
