Top church dominates the skyline in this second view from the castle keep. The direction is south-east, and municipal buildings occupy the centre ground. Centre left is the combined police and fire station in Tower Street, referred to earlier. Note the six-storey tower. To the right of this is the Council House, which was opened formally by HRH The Duke of Kent in December 1935. The Civic Gardens lie in front of them.
