More about this scene

Dominating this photograph is the richly-decorated Saxon tower of the church of All Saints, standing sentinel and soaring above the rooftops of the village. The Earl of Huntingdon lived nearby, and the village gets the other half of its name from his association with barley farming. The Queen Mother has made several visits to Earls Barton.

The Best Years Of My Life
Happy memories indeed. For an eight year old living in the village in the mid 1950s it was heaven. Long summer evenings and school holidays playing in woods, open fields and on building sites. Or cycling (yes at eight) to Overstone park or down to Castle Ashby station to watch the trains from Northampton and Wellingborough come past. Miss Wills Teacher At Earls Barton Primary School Poss 1965
Attending Primary School in Earls Barton I remember a teacher called Miss Wills very well. She drew shy pupils out of their shells and plonked them on the stage. The performance she put on included Alice in Wonderland and I remember her encouaging all to participate. The Church Where David Tall Married Susan Ford In 1963
This is a photo of Earls Barton Church in 1965, just two years after Susan Ford of Earls Barton married David Tall of Wellingborough 21 Sept 1963.

On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
