More about this scene
This is the A606 Oakham to Stamford Road. Most of the village lies to the left. The Regent petrol station is the only one between Oakham and Stamford (advertising Navoline Motor Oil ). The Audit Hall is nearby, opposite the White Horse, but not in the photograph. It was the place where estate business was conducted for Lord Ancaster until the Normanton Park estate was sold in 1926.
