Looking For Anyone Who Knew Me

A Memory of Gateshead.

Hi, I was born in 1945 at 9a Rectory Road, Gateshead. I was adopted 6 weeks later by Edna and Jack Dixon. My name then was Joy Dixon. I attended Brighton Road school for 10 years. I left the the north when I was 19 and have lived in Nottingham ever since. Please get in touch if anyone remembers me. I have been married 49 years and have 3 sons in their 40s. We moved to 118 Claremont Street when I was about 13. Some of the friends I had were Elizabeth Thompson, Pat Lewis, Norma Nixon, Judith and Ann Cairns - I would love to hear from anyone and how they have got on over the years. I worked at Shephard's department store for a while when I left school.

Hi there Joy,
You will not remember me, but I saw you when you were a little girl. My name is Bill Barclay, and Edna (your adopted mother) was my cousin. I have just this last week been made aware of this programme, and I got the shock of my life when I saw your name, together with Edna and Jack. Edna's mother was Sarah Whitford, who was my mother's sister. Sarah's maiden name was Naylor. I would be very pleased to hear from you and pass on any information that you may wish to know.

Bill
