More about this scene
Geddington, by-passed by the A43, is a delightful stone-cottaged backwater. Here the photographer looks south-east towards the church of St Mary Magdalene. The village shop, with its prominent Woodbine and Capstan cigarette advertisements, has since been converted into a house. The church has an Anglo-Saxon nave and much 13th-century work, as well as a 14th-century clerestory and chancel.
