When I viewed this photo of Station Parade I thought I recognised the man riding the bicycle as my Great Uncle, John English, who co owned the Watergate Farm Dairy at 32 Station Road and lived above the shop with my Great Aunt Ella during WW11. I lived in Gerrards Cross in the late 1950s when I attended Thorpe House Preparatory School. I was a shy child and the school was hell on earth with me getting caned regularly for what seemed to be minor and arbitrary infractions. That being said, I have many good memories of the town, and the surrounding countryside.
