More about this scene
Lewis`s (left) has a fine array of braziers, bins and barrows outside. This was an old-fashioned ironmonger`s that kept its nails and screws in small drawers behind the counter. The Brooke Bond van outside is presumably visiting the adjacent grocer`s, Luckin & Sons. This shop still has the family name up, though it currently seems to be full of soft toys.
