More about this scene
A splendid view of this busy street with plenty of interested onlookers to pose for the camera. Olivers, the early boot and shoe retailer, is on the left with its wares on show all around the doorway. Two doors on is a depot for the Society for the Promotion of Christian Knowledge. Note the man on the right erecting a blind and the horse with its cart patiently waiting for Mr. Frith to finish his work.
