Happy Days At Suntrap School

A Memory of Hayling Island.

I went to Suntrap school in Hayling island , I remember Mr Combes my class teacher he was an excellent teacher I enjoyed his class very much . My best friends were Linda Grover and Susan Whitfield. I remember a bird avery outside Mr Combes class and I'd scoop a handful of bird seeds and throw into their cage . Miss Jones was the Head Mistress of the school and her office was at the front of the house . Mrs Hall took needle work and cookery , the sister always wore a nurses uniform with a white cap and was very strict ! Mr Brooks would run the boys section and mrs Sutton would be in charge of the girls section , we had a girl guides hut on the beach , the beach was just across the road from the school . I have great happy memories whilst I was at Hayling island . My name is Olwyn , if anyone reads my post and recognises me please email me at olwynhope@hotmail.com
