I have now done some detective work regarding the origin of the Tip that we knew as Mount Pud, which was located between Station Road and the canal. Does anyone remember the Tip and Mount Pud with the cave at the top? This wonderland was at the bottom of Hollingwood but it's all cleared now. We used to play there all the time. There were hard rainbow coloured stones which we I used to collect. Anyone know how the place came about? I suspect it may have been a tipping point for some Staveley Works operation.
