Preston cheese factors favoured the Fylde for their milk, and set up a cheese factory in Inskip to which farmers from all over the Fylde brought supplies. Local girls worked at the model dairy and cows grazed on Carrs Green, once common land. The factory was kept very busy, especially at Christmas, when besides Lancashire cheese, sage and cheddar cheeses were produced; but it was demolished in 1991, and houses were built on the site.

Royal Navy
It was the long hot summer and I'd been posted to HMS Inskip. We moved into married quarters at 6c Nelson Gardens, don't know if it's still there? We loved it there one of our better postings, we'd love to visit again, we always talk about it. We remember the church and graveyard at the side of us with a little swing park also. Up the road we remember Berts shop and a freezer place where you could get your meat. Down ...see more

How Inskip Has Changed So Little
I have lived in Inskip most of my life, it is a nice little village that has changed very little in the past 32 years of my life. My parents have lived in Inskip over 30 years and my nanna a lot longer. The changes I have noticed are a few more houses, the loss of our shop and post office, and HMS Inskip has changed hands.

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
