More about this scene
A smart two-seater convertible is parked outside the imposing Barclays Bank, which had been built in 1910 as the Boston & Spalding Bank. Traffic is still sparse in the town's main shopping street, but parking regulations (different sides on alternate days) were in force. The International Stores, housed in a Georgian building on the left, was in a prime position on the corner of Meadow Road. The store moved from Kettering in 1984 as they could not find suitable, larger premises. Beyond is Charnley & Son, an old-established opticians, which recently closed.
