More about this scene

Caption for Knaresborough, Market Day 1921: The ancient market town of Knaresborough clings to the limestone bluff of a gorge carved by the River Nidd, and is famous for several things: the oldest woollen mill in England, Mother Shipton, a 15th-century prophetess who allegedly forecast motorcars and aircraft, and Blind Jack Metcalf, born in 1717, who was a soldier, roadbuilder, forest guide and musician.

Memories of Knaresborough

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Ye Olde Feathers Hotel, sadly no longer there. It will always have a special place in my heart.

I am seeking Jean Diane Burgoyne born on 5th September 1962 in Catterick, North Yorkshire - adopted in Knaresborough.
