More about this scene
The abbey of the White Canons was transferred here from Minsmere in 1363, and rebuilt after a fire in 1382. In 1922 the site was owned by Miss Ellen Wrightson, who in 1946 bequeathed it to the Diocese. This view from the crossing shows the chancel, with the chapel of St Michael on the right and the chapel of St Mary, which had been restored in 1920, on the left.
