Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant, The Square c.1950

More about this scene
The small village is famous for its waterfall and for being the home of William Morgan, vicar of Llanrhaeadr and 16th-century translator of the Bible into Welsh. Here we see a fine old 1930s car gracing the square. It is remarkable that today this scene is almost identical, with almost every physical detail unaltered. Not unlike other locations, the village has an identity problem. It has belonged to Denbighshire, Flintshire and Clwyd, but it has recently been nudged out into Powys.
