More about this scene
In the 18th century, the almost picturesque group of church and school was completed by the addition of the town stocks and whipping post. The high quality timberwork in this essentially early 17th-century building is visible in the open ground floor. The exterior of the upper storey consists of modern boarding and pargeted plaster.
