Northampton, Mercers Row c.1955

More about this scene
The splendid Westminster Bank building on the corner of Mercers Row, distinguished by its striking dome, is now a branch of Nationwide; the tall, narrow building to the right of it is a jeweller and diamond merchant. Many of the buildings to the right of it remain the same. Boots, on the left of the picture, later became the premises of a linen shop. The church's magnificent portico was completed in 1701.
