Good Friends And Memories...

A Memory of Northolt.

My name is Jenny and when I lived in Northolt I was named Jenny Shepheard. If anyone remembers me I would love to hear from them. I went out with a guy called Steve Hewlett for many years whose mum and dad were called Jack and Pat. He had two sisters called Lou and Tracy and a brother who moved to Canada called Bobby. I used to spend time at Northolt swimming baths, Load of Hay, The Oriel Youth Club, Sean's Wine bar in Eastcote, Eamond Flyn wine bar called Mirreabeau (?) and Middlesex and Hearts Country Club... I know I will remember more names but some that come to mind are Paul (Bernie) Richard Lawrence, Jimmy Woodward, Mick Street, Sharon Story, Barbara Hayes, Kate ?, Annette Riley, John Knight, Gary ?, Carol Jackson to name a few... These places and names bring back old fond memories so please contact if you knew me. Thank you Jenny

Hi, it was on hearing the name Pauline Crutchley and mention of the Oriel that made me post, with memories of Anth Stanton (“Beethoven”) and his old London cab. My name is Nick Parr from 43 Kempton Ave on the new estate, and I was in Mr Hatfield’s class at Islip Manor in 1964, having been at the Target and then Northolt Infants beforehand. (In fact, I helped delay the 14 story block being built). I played on the old “black hill” and the big old field, and was there when they first built the swimming baths. Used to go to Harrow open air baths before that. I went on to UCL, but I was an occasional friend of Ray Whitehouse, and helped Gary Coulson polish the Tiger Cub that he later cdied on when the police stalked him. Other close mates were Rick and Jackie Hall, Chris Cobbold (since changed to Stacey), Steve Barron, Chris Preedy (injured by the IRA), Val Green, the McMorrow sisters (Cora and Tina), Val Green, Sue Crick and after 2 years with Angie Sharp from Hounslow, Ann Clinch (who I was married to for 2 whole years and had a wonderful daughter!). I doubt anyone here remembers me, but I remember those days well, Horsenden Hill, “Park Policemen”, the Stone twins and their bike, Vince and Darryl Bennet and so many more. They all live on in my memory, as I haven’t been back since my mum (Margaret) passed 7 years ago. I now live in Portugal with my devoted wife of 45 years (from Torquay), having had a stroke from which I am slowly recovering. I have inherited another wonderful daughter, and wish all you, or those who remember be) well.
Apologie for poor one handed typing, I meant of course to with you all well.

PS it was Val Green who painted "love thy brother" on the garages off Mandeville road, and boke my leg in a m/c accident by the Load of Hay.
