Wharfdale Road

A Memory of Parkstone.

I arrived in Parkstone "Heavenly Bottom" in 1950 (ish) after travelling all around Britain as dad was in the army. We came to England from India where my parents served in the army in 1945 to live in Glencoe Road for a while, then moved around the country before settling in Wharfdale Rd when I was 5 years old. I went to Wesley Hall Infants School, Heatherlands Junior School, Martin Road Primary School then on to Kemp Welch. Apprenticed at Hamworthy Engineering, moved to Broadstone, got married, lived in Witerbourne Road at the Tatnam and in 1977 emigrated to Australia where we still are today.

Wow, I used to live at 7 Beaconsfield Rd next to heatherlands. Also went to Martin rd and Kemp Welch. I worked at JR SMITH hamworthy. Now live in Warradale South Australia. Been here 40 years. Where are you now.
Just looked up your Rd. We married and bought 97 Herbert Ave opposite the pub. I used to go to school with Teresa Katella who lived in the culdesack next to you.
I was born in Heavenly Bottom in 1944. My parents had moved there from London at the outbreak of WW2 because my father was stationed at Bovington Camp. He used to CYCLE home most evenings and back again early the next morning. When I married I moved to London but I still like to read about Parkstone, Poole etc.
