More about this scene
This lighthouse once occupied the feared Eddystone Rock, 14 miles south of the Hoe. Built by John Smeaton, it was the third lighthouse on the rock; it shone from 1756 to 1890, when the present lighthouse, designed by Douglas, was completed.
