Redditch, Alcester Street c.1955

More about this scene
All the foreground buildings were demolished in the 1960s. In fact, only two buildings in this scene are still intact today; one is the church, and the other is the Palace Theatre (the light-coloured structure behind the cyclist). A new town hall now stands opposite the Palace, while the foreground area has been sacrificed to the road system.
