Downstream from the town, the photographer looks back to the Richmond Half-Tide Weir and Footbridge. There are boat rollers by the Isleworth bank on the right, and Richmond Lock is on the left. This and the stylish pedestrian bridge date from 1892-4. Between this and the 1848 railway bridge beyond is now Twickenham Bridge of 1930, in effect the Richmond by-pass.
