Rochdale, Carr Wood Waterfall 1895

More about this scene
Just downstream of Carr Wood waterfall is this smaller weir, whose race carried water via a flagstone channel under fields to the left to the Ashworth Estate corn mill. Later the race served a bone mill and a small woollen and cotton mill nearby. To one sender of this postcard, it was `not a bad view for this area`.
