Just off Main Road, Junction Road lies sufficiently distant from the hubbub of the market and town centre to provide a tranquil setting for tasteful town villas. They were ideal for Romford's 'city gents' with easy access to the railway station from where they could be swiftly taken to the City and Central London.

I lived at 81 Junction Road from the age of 3 - 11 from 1946 - 1953. The house was one of 4 large detached houses close to the railway which have been demolished, but the row of shops in Carlton Road still exist.
