Salisbury, Catherine Street c.1950

More about this scene
This picture was probably taken soon after the end of the Second World War, judging by the Food Office sign on the right of the picture. The Bell and Crown inn is now called the Cloisters; Gibbs Mew was the main Salisbury brewery, now sadly no longer with us. The Wessex motors garage, whose signs are displayed on the facing wall, has gone, and has been replaced by an office block.
