More about this scene
Formerly a theological training college, since 1980 Kings House has been the Salisbury and Wiltshire museum. It was named Kings House after James I, and Queen Ann of Denmark and Henry, Prince of Wales stayed there in the early 17th century. The building is mostly 16th-century, as is shown by the wonderful stone mullions dominating its frontage; the two-storey porch on the left is even older.
