Skinningrove has long been popular with fishermen and in this delightful view we see a group of fishing boats and the jetty.
Fishing boats still bob at anchor on the high tide, but tourism is now the dominant industry.
With its fine views across the harbour, Poole Park became a popular gathering ground for tourists who wanted to walk, row boats or just sit in the sunshine.
Boats can be hired at the Swan's Nest Boathouse and at Clopton Bridge.
Many boats were half 'n halfers of 30ft to 40ft in length, and suitable for drift netting pilchards, herring or mackerel.
There are several beached boats, the first complete with tender.
A barge loads at the quay, pleasure boats take trippers for a cruise.
The profusion of lily pads suggests that its role as a boating lake has not yet been realised.

The neatly-tended garden beside one of the thatched boathouses provides a vantage point to watch boats on the broad.
