An old woman sits below this ancient creeper-clad tree, whilst another poses for the cameraman outside her cottage porch. Notice the semi-circular oven protruding from the wall beside the chimney, a feature of many period cottages in the area. It was used to bake bread, then very much a staple of the diet.
