More about this scene
Trebilcock's shop is displaying the well-known brand of K shoes and boots. The corner of the imposing Town Hall is on the left, partly hiding the venerable slate-hung King's Arms at the point where Fore Street narrows further. A sign beyond the shop advertises an agency representing the Union Castle Steamship Co for South Africa, to which many Cornishmen emigrated.
