St Mawes, The Harbour c.1955

More about this scene
St Mawes is the largest village on the Roseland peninsula. Its sheltered harbour was once for fishing boats, but it is now very much a haven for boating, holidays and retirement. Some of its earlier character is retained in this photograph, although 20th-century developments are in evidence on the hillside above.
