St.Paul’s Cray

A Memory of St Paul's Cray.

There were many interesting family shops in st. Paul’s Cray. The “Barnes” family own the lady and gents hairdressers. The “Blunt” family own the toy shop, he also help run the Orpington sea cadets . George Pullar ( what an appropriate name!) was the only dentist there at that time, my mother was a dental nurse there for a great many years.
Jeremy Beadle (you’ve been framed presenter) as a boy lived in Leith Hill Rd., with his mother.
There were many interesting families living in St.Paul’s cray during the fifties and sixties, too many to mention here !
Great time I had as a young boy !!

Hi my great grandparents were the Blunts. Lawrence Jack (known as John) and Kathleen Blunt. I’ve been looking into my family history recently and my grandmother took me to visit St Paul’s Cray this weekend when I was visiting her and she showed me all around and pointed out the toy shop. It is lovely seeing these memories

Nice to hear that you are researching your family history. As I recall the blunts lived in Midfield way, I believe there were three children ; Ian Blunt and his two sisters, I can’t quite recall their names. I think the youngest sister was called Emily . Happy searching!
Kind regards
