More about this scene
The King's Arms (left) is a fine example of a coaching inn and former posting house. Stables to the rear were reached through the archway leading from the town square. It is possible that the inn was licensed by Edward VI in 1548. Another royal connection is that Charles I is said to have stayed here at the time of the Battle of Naseby.
