More about this scene

The original plan with this restored 19th-century church was for it to have a spire, though it never materialised. There is yellow brickwork on the inside wall surfaces and painted tiles depicting saints on the chancel walls. The east window has stained glass dating back to the late 1940s.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

Hello Mark Waller, I came across your illuminating text when looking for information regarding Stubbington House in regard to my memoir, which I am currently writing. It's fascinating to read the other comments from ex-pupils, many of them dovetailing with my own memories. There were also a few facts that I had forgotten about, so it has been a great help in bulking up the relevant information I ...see more

I went to a reunion at the RAC club in London about 10 years ago with a long time friend Robert Dalgliesh, the ...see more
I arrived at the school in 1971 I was 9 years old such a long time ago I read through other people views and remember Mr Moore in the way he has been described and also Mr renton who was a very nice fellow along with the other staff mentioned being jewish at the time there were only 2 jews at the school, they made allowances for this as we did not have to attend chapel, but there was no ...see more
Hi this is a long shot but I was at Earleywood School before it became Stubbington House . I was there reasonably briefly from 1959 to 1961 . Would love to get feed back from anyone who was there or maybe any of the teachers. I remember the kind Matron Matty, she even sent me food parcels when I moved school! Hope someone can be of assistance. Regards David Green
