More about this scene
This view looks north along Church Road from near the Cheam Road junction, with the spire of St Nicholas parish church in the distance. The road is now called St Nicholas Way, and forms part of the town's inner ring road or gyratory. The houses on the left have been replaced by Civic Offices and the Central Library, which opened in 1978. On the right, three years after the date of this photograph, the Methodist Church was built.
