The chapel was built in 1884 on the south side of Carshalton Road, but has since been demolished. After 1907, when the new church was built in Cheam Road, it ceased to be a church and bizarrely became the Sutton Hippodrome cinema. Later it became engineering workshops, before being demolished in the 1950s.

We moved to Sutton in 1956/7, Sutton Court Road, and I attended Sutton East before moving to Worcester Road and then going to Ambleside School in Cheam, then onto the Willows before completing my A-levels at Nonsuch High School for Girls in Cheam.

I was at this school until it closed when I moved to Wallington Independent High School.
I was one of the naughty boys, but turned out all right in the end and had a great working life. Now retired I have an action packed time with masses of fun.
I have had a few medical hic ups along the way and have used up more than my 9 lives.

If this is Throwley Way parallel to Sutton Hugh Street, then the now defunct Sutton High School for Boys used these erstwhile Baths for swimming lessons and competitions, right up to the school's controversial closure in 1962.
I was a projectionist at the "CURZON" cinema in Cheam Road form 1962 - 1986 and would always go to the Regent for lunch..Was always a good meal and you could get 3 courses for around 2/6d..
Served by two lovely waitresses Eve & Day..who incidentally came to my 21st Birthday party!
