Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

There are overgrown sandpits above the junction of Victoria Road (centre left), and Beach Road (centre) which has since been re-named Shore Road. There was still an empty beach, apart from a few out-of-season bathing machines, between the town and its northern hamlet which begins with Cliff Cottage and Shore Cottage (upper left). Ballard Down (top) and Ballard Point (far right) - known locally as Ballard Head - provide the chalky backdrop.

12 Station Rd Sutton Clark Hairdresser
At the end of this road on the right would have been my grandfather's hairdresser shop. My Dad, his son, said that his mother would go in the bakery adjoined to the print shop next door to get baked goods for afternoon tea. She served the tea and baked goods to the other hairdressers in the shop. My Dad lived over the shop with his parents and one brother. They lived there until the war when it ...see more

12 Station Road, Sutton Clark Hairdresser
Do you know the addresses of these shops? My grandfather had a hairdresser shop at 12 Station Road, Sutton Clark Hairdresser. His son, my Dad, does not have any photos of the shop.

Caravan Holidays In Swanage
I have been holidaying in Swanage for 46 years, staying on Ullwell caravan site then Phippards. Happy days walking down to the tap for water, the water use to trickle out of the tap but did not bother us what so ever. The showers cost 10p a go and were usually cold, standing on a red slimey floor, nowhere to hang your clothes or towel. Then there was the shop that didn't sell newspapers! Just sweets ...see more

Church Holiday
The one and only time Ive been to Swanage was in 1959, when my friend Judith and I were sent on a Social Christian Movement Holiday! Neither of us were very religeous, but had mums who thought we should be. I cant remember much about it, except that we stayed in a Church Hall, that had a stone floor. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
