Steps from the Highcliffe (right) descend to the beach at North Swanage, beyond the promenade (upper centre) where the cliffs are skirted by beach huts. The 'Hut Office' of proprietor Harry Parsons offers deck chairs for hire. Ocean Bay Stores, with a flat roof and battlements (centre), was built as the Beach Restaurant for Frank Parsons by Bournemouth architect Thomas Grimes in 1908.
