More about this scene
The village of Upper Beeding nestles against the hills. Confusingly, Upper Beeding is lower than its namesake Lower Beeding, which lies about 15 miles away near Horsham. North of the village lies the site of Sele Priory, established by William de Braose and now occupied by the vicarage.
