More about this scene
Whilst the Latchford Viaduct is high enough to allow the tallest ships to pass beneath, a series of swing bridges allow vessels to pass through most road crossings along the canal. The 36-foot-wide Knutsford Road Bridge, near to Latchford Locks, rests on 60 rollers operated by hydraulic power to move its 248-foot length and 1,350 tons.
