Second Hand Elecrical And Record Shop
A Memory of West Ealing.
Opposite Deans Gardens was a little 2nd hand electrical and record shop. It was about two shops down from Drayton Green Road. Previously it had been on the other side of the road opposite the Wimpy Bar. There were second hand records both 45rpm and 33 1/3 rpm. This was my main interest. I never went in and bought a single 45rpm record always a handful. However there were tape recorders, record players, and of course the recent invention transistor radios. There was really nothing striking about the shop, however it seemed to have the power to make you oblivious to the passing of time. You quickly became lost in a world that seemed to be the domain of us teenagers in those far off years of the SIXTIES.
