Fatleycroft 1948 1951 Approx

A Memory of Westerham.

To everyone who spent some time at Farleycroft.
I was there from approx 1948. I remember Mrs Gunn, I remember a nurse Lemon and a nurse Baldry. I met Nurse Baldry’s parents one day when they were visiting their daughter. It’s quite a long story but later it turned out that they fostered me out, I think I was about 4 or getting on 5. On one visit back to see Mrs Gunn she asked if I’d like a little dog, I took home this gorgeous black cocker spaniel. Nurse Brenda Baldry later on joined the RAF and travelled all over the world.
About 10 years ago my hubby and I took a ride out to see the beautiful house, and I came away very upset as the house had been demolished and some modern houses were there instead. I remember the lovely wooden staircase and the gardens, we used to be tucked up in the afternoons outside on some sort of little bed for a little rest and covered with a blanket. I used to play in the sandpit a lot. Lovely memories and Mrs Gunn was so lovely to us. My name is Kami ( abb)
