More about this scene
Not far from the ruins of Whalley's abbey stands the 13th-century Church of St Mary and All Saints. Amongst the ancient graves surrounding it are three intricately carved Celtic crosses that are some 300 years older than the church. It is said that anyone who can decipher the script on the largest of them will discover the secret of invisibility.
